People are no longer just a single record in a database; the rise of new data sources and an explosion in data volumes is creating the multi-dimensional person. Nigel Walsh
Vice President & Head of UK Insurance

Nigel is the Vice President and of Head of UK Insurance.  Over the last 5 years Nigel has been actively engaged with key technology partners – supporting clients across the UK insurance business. Nigel joined Capgemini in 2010 having previously worked for a variety of US based start-up’s, working specifically into the financial services sector.  He has over 15 years’ experience in leadership, bringing emerging technologies to market in EMEA.

Nigel sits on the Capgemini CR&S board and is the Executive Sponsor for the UK Community programme working with charities including the Princes Trust, Children in Need and Nanhi Kali.  Nigel also sits on the UK Digital Board.

Steve Jones
Global Vice President, Big Data 

Steve Jones is Capgemini’s Global Vice President for Big Data. Steve Jones is a snowboarder, surfer and windsurfer who has worked in over 15 different countries on 4 different continents.  He is a regular contributor to the Financial Times, business & technical journals, is the author of Enterprise SOA Adoption strategies and has been constantly on the leading edge of new technology trends.  Moving into Java in 1998, Cloud Computing in 2006 with Google & Amazon and, most recently, creating the first end-to-end reference architecture for Big and Fast Data – the Business Data Lake – which has been adopted by multiple Silicon Valley and other tech companies including Pivotal, EMC and Informatica.  A regular presenter at conferences including in front of over 20,000 attendees as part of the keynote of the JavaOne developer conference in 2006.
